The most visible (and audible) were the cliff swallows, who make interesting mud nests under rock overhangs. They did a lot of swooping low over the water after insects. We also were buzzed by a couple of hummingbirds while on the boats. We heard a lot of birdsong but I'm not too good at identification. I only heard one canyon wren - they have the prettiest song in the desert, I think, and so recognizable, that descending scale. A few raptors up high, dunno, probably vultures. Oh, and interestingly we saw lots of great blue herons on our previous trip in June, but I don't think any this trip. Just about a zillion Canadian geese.
