Oh, yeah, so much snowpack this winter in the NW. In the north of Colorado and Utah the rivers have been record huge and there have been a lot of fatalities, which is very sad. The group we met at Dewey originally had a permit for Cataract Canyon (below Moab and the confluence with the Green, running into Lake Powell) but it is running at record levels and they had decided it was too dangerous. I know that in Oregon and Idaho they even had slow starts to the seasons because there was so much snow that the access roads weren't clear. So yeah, river recreation with kids not so much right now.

...um, go bicycling?
