Thanks a lot! I think as ultras go, this was an eminently reasonable introduction. (There was at least one other ultra virgin there, though most of the runners were seriously old hands, and I felt a little intimidated in retrospect afterward listening to them debate the merits of this 50-miler vs that 50-miler, and whether they thought they might apply for Hardrock or Western States next year...)
