I just ran into a friend yesterday (a guy I sort of work with through San Juan Bioenergy) who just borrowed a canoe to run the Dolores with. We saw a couple of canoes at a camp, too. I have never canoed other than in flatwater, but hey, if you're comfortable with it, do it.
