Absolutely, to me, too! I lived in Minnesota, and yeah 40 below is cold, but it's nothing like the miserable +2 Celcius winters we have :o/
I guess it's that maritime climate like Seattle where you just get wet and windy winters. It's humid here, yes, but we actually don't get as much precipitation as inland, as mostly the storm systems come from west, and drop their precipitation on their way across Jutland. Which means we're more likely to have draughts in summer, and less snow in winter. Boo.
