winter! yay!

The first ski day of the season has been accomplished! \o/

Okay, so it was more like the first ski couple of hours. But the first day skiing is always a time to rediscover muscles one has forgotten about. And having a weekday pass means never having to feel guilty about only going in the nicest part of the early afternoon. (Mostly because it means feeling guilty about bugging out of work in the middle of the day. I promise to make it up tomorrow, boss!)

I sure wish we were more prepared for snow--especially now that they're calling it the Blizzard of '09. We're expecting 2 feet, which in the South, is a catastrophe.

I'm staying home, mind you. No way am I braving the roads with the idjits out there...especially not in my wee SmartCar (though it handled fantabulously last night!)

Hee, yes, the DC area has always denied that it actually snows in the winter. I remember school being closed for a week back in '78 or '79. I totally don't blame you for not wanting to mix with people who have forgotten how to drive in the snow. At least here we have the equipment and (mostly) the skills to deal with it.
