I was so depressed to hear that! I just watched Airplane! again yesterday, too.

Now I'm kind of jonesing to watch it again as well. Britt said he's never seen it, OMG! It's the sort of movie I'm afraid he'll just roll his eyes at and say, "Jeez, how STOOPID" (because it is!) but it's such a part of cultural history! And so wonderfully, sophomorically funny.

Airplane! sets the bar on "so stupid it's funny". Britt must see it!

I am very sorry he's died, but this did make me laugh. Which is perhaps how it ought to be.

And oddly, I totally forgot that he was Buck Frobisher in due South until someone else mentioned it. Airplane! is immediately where my brain went.

Oh, so he was! I remember being utterly UNABLE to watch that without thinking of Airplane!

Aw, thanks. I used to hang (online) with a group of people who would write celebrity obituary haiku at the passing of every well-known person, but I'm out of practice.
