Gary Gygax memorial haiku

Saving throw dice fall
but we all, ultimately,
use up our hit points.

I have a vague idea of who Gary Gygax was, but it really wasn't until today that I really understood how much I, having never even thought about playing D&D, am out of touch with my generation.

Well, you're out of touch with that slice of your generation who are ex-Usenet LJ nerds. As I mentioned to Ryan above, it was all over my flists, but the world at large probably doesn't even have that vague idea.

Me, I played D&D all through high school and into my first couple years of college, so.
