the last of the NZ photos, OMG

I have uploaded our photos from the Queen Charlotte Track, Wellington, and the Coromandel Peninsula, added 9 photos to the Waitomo (black-water rafting) set, and added 6 photos to the Tongariro (Mount Doom) set.

A few of my favorites:

Heading into Mordor (well, it looks like it, doesn't it?) in Tongariro NP:

Hee, only MOST of the time! I think our photos are a little deceptive because we didn't take pictures (and if we did, they didn't turn out very good) when the weather was horrific. So NZ looks like a beautiful and sunny place!

(And if you look at my hair in the photo on the Te Papa rooftop sculpture garden, you can see that Windy Wellington is living up to its name.)

Oh, if you go to NZ, the Queen Charlotte track is specifically set up for People Who are Really Not So Into Backpacking. You take a boat to one end of this mountain-ridgy peninsula, and then hike back over 4 days, but if you want you can have your gear shuttled by boat so you only have to carry a daypack, and there are a few fancy resorts and stuff so you don't have to actually camp, either. Either way, you get the views from the ridgeline down to the water on both sides.
