HEE! You know, I almost added that, but it just looked illogical (given the other half of my statement--not that yours is illogical!). Of course you are right. I lived there almost 10 years and I still find the accent hilarious. On the other hand? I'm from Long Island and therefore am NOT one to talk. Er. *cough* Pun unintended, but I'm letting it stand because it's quite apt.
What I meant by my first reply of course is that there are lots of Jewish people there, especially in the areas you had to run through, on the west side, and there are other Ilanas. Brookline has, I think, five synagogues/temples at least.
