I am annoyed more than I should be by people who email me - at an address that includes my name - and then misspell my name in the body of the email
Hahaha, I feel your pain. It's like: can you read? I would say that it makes me assume things about their intelligence, their regard for me personally, and their attitude towards people who aren't them, but it happens so often that I can't always assume it's because they are jerks.
I have an Italian friend living here whose name is spelled the same as an English name but pronounced entirely differently; it is almost shocking how many people continue to use the English pronunciation even though she introduces herself with the correct one, and most of her friends (though not all!) have it right. Actually, thinking about it, I know two people who have that problem. Most people are just seriously resistant to noticing things.
who then email me on Thursday at 2:30 pm with their news release prefaced by, "Thank you for holding the newsletter for this information."
I assume they didn't notify you in advance that it would be late and ask if you could hold the newsletter? That sounds like a fairly impressive entitlement complex.
