Seeing a name I recognize from my sailing correspondence on my profile (hi, Clark!) reminds me that I haven't updated you all with our winter plans. We have decided that since Britt's work is going to keep him tied up until mid-January, at which time it will be brr cold in South Carolina, we are going to put off our "winter" cruise until March. Actually, this may end up being a good plan, because there will be fewer cold fronts then, which means 1) we probably won't have to wait around for a Gulf Stream crossing window, and 2) we can explore some of the northern and central Bahamas we have not seen much of because either it's too chilly in the winter, or because the anchorages are dubious in fronts.

Meanwhile, of course, we neglected to buy ski passes. Ah, well.

Nah, if you get a weekday pass before mid-September, it's only $250. Actually, that was last year, I think it might have gone up to $300. Not bad if you actually get snow and can ski - last year we didn't even start skiing until near the end of the season, and then ended up using them a lot just so we would earn out the $ the passes cost, since it was so warm all winter!

well that's a better deal :)
I'll have to go at least once..I haven't been skiing in..yikes..14 years. I'd be stuck on the bunny slopes, and no one I know here will ski those :(

I'm sorry your plans got put on hold for a bit; I know it must be disappointing.

But I must admit that I'm pleased, purely for my own sake, that you'll be around over the winter. :-)
