Jiggety-jig. Assuming you even noticed I was gone! Anyway, we are back home from our epic Canadian Rockies National Parks adventure, with a rafting trip on the Green River tacked on at the end, and I'm sorting through the photos and starting to write up our adventures. I'm thinking of backdating the posts much like I did for our England trip, so that they form a coherent set of posts at approximately the right dates, and then posting an index. Looking forward to hearing all about it.

My wife and I just got back from Spokane, WA. We visited Glacier National Park and the Missoula Smokejumper Base on the way out.

We drove by Glacier coming out of Waterton Lakes NP, and ugh, the smoke was so thick! What a horrible fire season it's been in the northwest.

We got lucky. A line of storms went through the night before we took our tour. Clear sky and the wind blew the smoke the other way.

We had a couple really good days in Spokane and a couple really bad days due to smoke from nearby fires. I'm told one of those days rated as one of the worst air quality readings anywhere that day.

We didn't actually see any fire on the routes we took, but we did see plenty of smoke.

BTW, I was really sorry to hear about the Animas. I hope things recover well.
