Lame trivia entry #274: according to an informal survey (one of many useless surveys I've done) "pomegranate" is the item most likely to be spelled incorrectly on produce department signs.
That said, I'm glad yours is tasty. I've bought several crappy ones so far this year, and am waiting impatiently for a care package from a neighbor's tree.
Assuming that by pulp you mean "that red stuff around the seeds", with good pomegranates you crunch the seeds right down. I think though that I've had some marginal ones where the seeds seemed big and intrusive, and I ended up spitting them out.
I ate half of one as a snack this afternoon, and then I sprinkled a bunch of seeds on our salads (that were otherwise "spring mix" type greens) with dinner. Yum.
I've got some dried pomegranate seeds in my spice cupboard: came from an Indian grocery. They make an interesting, tart addition to things like soups...
