Just got email from the editor of Good Old Boat on my boat wiring article.

The good news is, she liked it and wants to give me $500 to publish it in the March issue!
The bad news is that's March, 2004. And they pay 60 days before publication, so that's approximately exactly one year from now.

I guess this is another reason I tend to write shorter articles, rather than features -- it's easier to squeeze them in sooner on the editorial calendar.

Anyway, champagne all around on me...in another year
