I hate to admit it but I thought he was long dead. That is until I saw an article in a BBC feed today asking "why don't we take credit for the accomplishments of people from former colonies like we used to?"
The newscaster made me chuckle a bit this morning: "...when he conquered the mountain." Conquering a mountain. Not at all like crawling to the top and wondering how to get back down in one piece, I suppose. Language kills me dead.
