ilanarama: my footies in my finnies (snorkeling)

Today at the grocery store I saw a woman wearing a pale green gauzy halter sundress with knee-high furry Uggs.

ETA: Britt pointed out, when I told him about this, that she was probably just averaging winter and summer out into spring, just like our weather.

I'm not a fashion plate by any stretch of the imagination, but that combo is making my brain bleed just a little.

I know it makes me an old fuddy duddy, but I'm really not a fan of the Uggs. . .

I think they are kind of cute, but not in that particular combination.

I love my Uggs, but even I, a former backcountry ranger would NEVER do that...

she was probably just averaging winter and summer out into spring, just like our weather. That's funny!

I just discovered those ugly Uggs and LOVE them... but with a sun dress? sorta seems at cross purposes... but then again? I suffer with hot flashes so maybe I'm missing out on some serious fashion??

Nah!

The combination seems odd. Says the woman who is wearing shorts and a t-shirt, and sheepskin booties. :-)

People seem to wear mixed season gear a lot around here. A couple of winters ago it was fashionable to wear ugg boots, jeans, skimpy tank tops and scarves and last winter it was thongs... er flip flops, jeans and a heavy winter coat.

HAHAHA! We've got fashion issues in this state, for sure.

On another topic, which is better: Durango or Grand Junction? It occurs to me that I live in Denver for no particular reason while I yearn to be in the mountains 24/7.

Which is better depends on your perspective and needs. Durango is a lot smaller and a lot more expensive. The economy isn't doing as poorly here (yet?) and is more tourism-based (although the county overall has a lot of oil and gas industry). Durango is substantially more liberal; I think that Grand Junction is majority Republican.

Neither is really "mountains", though - we're both kind of on the edge between mountains and desert, like Denver is between mountains and plains. But I can't imagine living in Denver. Too big, too crowded, too urban, too far from the mountains, and you have to share them with too many people.

Thanks for the insight. Are they any closer to hills than Denver? I guess I need to check out both more. I was thinking both are bigger than most mountain towns, yet much smaller than Denver. I want to make a change, but don't want to end up working at a restaurant in Vail, know what I mean?

I hang my head in shame. I was actually carrying it, but didn't realize I had it with me.

And, I am as guilty of the next Durangotang of crimes against fashion.
